The Board of Governors and Executive at St Andrew’s College make every effort to ensure tuition fees are kept to a minimum. Fees are reviewed each year, with careful consideration given to the factors and costs required to deliver the high-quality education the College delivers.

Fees information

As an independent school, St Andrew’s College is a non-profit organisation that operates independently of Government education subsidies. The Tuition Fee does not include the cost of co-curricular activities, optional tours and excursions, co-curricular camps, uniforms, individual music tuition or instrument hire and some sporting activities.

    If an offer of enrolment is made, we will ask you to confirm acceptance with a non-refundable acceptance fee of $500, which includes the student's life membership of the Old Collegian Association, plus a non-refundable bond of $1000 which will be credited to your first College account when the first tuition charge is made.

  • Payment of Fees (New Zealand Residents)

    Tuition and boarding fees are charged in ten equal monthly instalments (January to October) and become payable in the month following. It is mandatory for all new students to St Andrew's College to pay by direct debit.

  • Disbursements

    Extra costs, such as stationery, Outdoor Education experiences, co-curricular photographs and external examination fees, are charged monthly.

  • Overdue Accounts

    Unpaid accounts attract a penalty of 1.5 per cent of the unpaid balance each month.

  • Fee Discounts

    Families with three or more siblings at the College may receive a 10 per cent discount on tuition fees for the third child and subsequent children attending at the same time provided none receives a scholarship or any other form of financial assistance from the College.

    Excluded from these fees are: NCEA (external examination) fees, purchases at the College Shop (uniform, sports uniform, personal stationery etc.), doctors’ fees, pharmacy charges, sports tours, taxis (personal), Outdoor Education camp charges, overnight field trips, lost and/or damaged texts/library books, photography/TV/film and other specialist course fees.

  • Disbursements

    A disbursement bond of $2000 is required when tuition fees are paid. This will be credited to the student's final account. All disbursements are the responsibility of the student and are to be paid monthly.

  • Homestay Fee

    $345 (including GST) per week.

  • NCEA Examination Fees

    $383.30 for 48 or more credits (approximately); $102.20 per subject for Scholarship entry.

  • Insurance

    The International Student Travel Insurance is mandatory for all international students under the Code of Practice 2016. Parents are welcome to organise their child’s travel insurance, or St Andrew’s College will provide this service at an annual fee of approximately $650, this may change due to the time of stay for each student.

    International student fees are payable in full and in advance by 30 November of the year preceding tuition.

    For example, the cost of weekly full-time attendance (40 hours) for a three-year-old child would be $380.

  • Optional Charge

    Optional charge $9.50 per hour (six hours per day maximum to a total of 20 hours per week).

    Please note: Hours attested to another provider will be charged at the relevant under-three hourly rate. Additional hours (i.e. 20+) will be apportioned between $9.50 and the relevant under-three hourly rate. The percentage share will match the shared attested hours.

    20 ECE hours is up to six hours per day, up to 20 hours per week and there must be no compulsory fees when the child is receiving 20 hours ECE funding.

    At St Andrew’s College Pre-school, we pride ourselves on delivering our young tamariki with a comprehensive Pre-school programme that goes far beyond standard education guidelines. To achieve this, we:

    • invest in an extensive range of high-quality resources designed to support and extend learning;

    • ensure our Pre-school children are able to benefit from the use of the wider St Andrew’s College facilities such as sports fields, Dance and Drama facilities, Library, Science laboratories, Gymnasiums and Theatre;

    • provide our Pre-school children with access to specialist subject teachers employed by the College; and

    • operate at a higher teacher to child ratio compared to standard Pre-school facilities.

    Delivering and maintaining our enhanced Pre-school education does come at an additional cost, and we appreciate those who participate in paying the optional charge. Please know that your contribution goes toward the continuation of our exceptional Pre-school education programme and allows us to seek further investments to enhance learning opportunities for our tamariki.

    Fees are charged on monthly statements and the method of payment is direct debit (forms will be provided with acceptance).

  • Application Fee

    All applications for enrolment must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of $150. (This fee also includes enrolment into Year 1).

  • Term Breaks and Public Holidays

    Enrolment is inclusive of state school term breaks and public holidays. The Pre-school will operate during state school term breaks and attendance during these breaks is optional. You will have the option of ‘opting out’ during the state school term break and fees will not be charged if non-attendance is notified at least three weeks in advance.

    The Pre-school will close for five weeks over the Christmas and New Year break and no fees will be charged for this closure. The Pre-school is closed on all public holidays; however, fees are payable for public holidays other than those during the Christmas and New Year closure.

  • Late Fee

    St Andrew’s College Pre-school is licensed for children between the hours of 8.00am–4.30pm only. Children not collected by the closing time will be charged a late fee of $25.00 per 15 minutes to cover additional staffing costs.
