TV Studio

St Andrew’s College has the only fully professional television and digital media studio and control room complex in a New Zealand Secondary School, which provides some exciting production and performance opportunities.

The four-camera studio is fully equipped to replicate the industry, with industry professionals frequently onsite to provide students with mentoring.

Students get valuable experience running ‘outside broadcasts’ at major college events, such as prizegivings. They also create content for YouTube and the College’s online platforms.

The College also has a well-equipped field production unit, with cameras, lights, and microphones used by students for class projects and our annual Film Festival.

Each year around 300 students from Years 9–13 experience this wonderful facility, with junior students using the studio for performing arts classes, and seniors studying the media.

Many St Andrew’s students, whose passion for performance and production, began at the College, have gone on to great things within the industry in New Zealand and overseas.
