High Performance Sports Programme

Our very best athletes in Year 11–13 are invited into our High Performance Sports Programme, which targets aspects of fitness, wellbeing and lifestyle that are key to excelling in sport beyond the school years.

The Programme is focused on helping students develop the tools and skills to answer the following questions:

  • What will it take to be a top athlete?
  • Where am I now?
  • Who do I need to become?
  • How do I get there?

As part of the Programme, Year 11–13 athletes have access to the latest resources within the sports performance industry. A number of high profile consultants, including former regional and national sportspeople and coaches, are attached to the programme.

Students work with a mentor to create an Individual Performance Plan (IPP) that helps them to organise time and focus their goal setting.

They have three extra sports-related classes a term and are allocated a course facilitator who works with them to help balance their training loads with school work and College life. The students meet fortnightly with their facilitator who provides mentoring and helps resource them with the tools they need to perform at their best.

"Being successful is not just about extra training, but more about understanding the process behind it. Students will be taught to realise what it takes to be successful in their chosen sport.
