Ballet Academy

The StAC Ballet Academy is run exclusively for students of St Andrew’s College. Integrated within the school day, the programme offers a seamless transition from class to studio, with quality tutoring focusing on classical technique, musicality, and the joy of performance. Additional options include: pointe, national character, private lessons, and competition preparation. In 2015 the St Andrew’s Ballet School will offer ballet as a Year 9 Option Subject. Students will:

  • attend three classes per week (including syllabus, open work and repertoire);
  • take an annual exam;
  • participate in the professionally produced yearly production.

The Year 10 Option (2016) will continue their training, followed by the formation of the St Andrew’s Ballet Company for Years 11-13 dancers. Entry for new Year 9 students, with suitable ballet experience, is by application and audition (once you have selected this option, you will be contacted). Students currently enrolled in the Year 8 programme need not audition.

Course costs: To be advised.

Centenary Launch

 The St Andrew’s College Centenary was launched in fine style at a special assembly in September, where memories of the past were honoured and there was much anticipation about the year of celebrations ahead.
